The US ownership reporting rule was finalised

On 29 September 2022, FinCEN published the final rule implementing beneficial ownership reporting under the Corporate Transparency Act, with an effective date of 1 January 2024.

The UK opened its register of overseas entities

The Economic Crime (Transparency and Enforcement) Act 2022 became law in March 2022 and created a register of overseas entities owning UK property, an early step in the wider reform of Companies House.
