Frequently asked questions.

Can I form a company in a country where I do not live?

Yes. The United States, the United Kingdom and Hong Kong all allow non-residents to own a company, and the formation is filed remotely. You do not need to travel or to hold a visa. Each jurisdiction has its own local requirements, such as a registered agent or a company secretary, which we arrange with you.

How long does it really take?

Company formation typically takes 24 hours in the United States and the United Kingdom once your file is complete, and a few working days in Hong Kong. Bank accounts typically open within a week. Tax numbers are issued by the tax authority and can take longer. These are typical timeframes, not guarantees.

What do you need from me?

A valid passport or ID, a proof of address, the name you want for your company and a few details about your store. We tell you exactly what each institution asks for before you send anything.

Can you guarantee my bank, Stripe or Shopify Payments account?

No, and no honest service can. Each institution makes its own decision after its own verification. What we do is prepare a complete, accurate file with you so that your application is reviewed in the best conditions.

Is Atiko a law firm or an accounting firm?

No. Atiko is a business filing and administrative assistance service. We do not give legal or tax advice. Bookkeeping and tax filings are handled by independent licensed accountants, and we recommend that you consult your own adviser about your situation in your country of residence.

What happens after the company is formed?

Every company has recurring formalities: a registered address to renew, an annual filing with the registry, and tax returns. We keep your calendar, remind you before each date and coordinate the paperwork with you.
